Meet Jennifer

Hi, I’m Jennifer Wolf, DNP, MSN, RN, IBCLC, CBE, and I’ve been supporting families as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for over 8 years and as a registered nurse for more than 25 years. I work with parents from pregnancy through extended breastfeeding, offering guidance on everything from prenatal education and newborn feeding to exclusive pumping, bottle feeding, and complex feeding challenges during the first year. My practice includes virtual consultations, home visits, and prenatal childbirth and breastfeeding education.

My mission is to support you in reaching your breastfeeding and parenting goals in the most compassionate, evidence-based, and holistic way possible—so that feeding your baby becomes a natural and empowering part of your parenting journey. As a mom of five fabulous humans, I’ve personally experienced a wide range of breastfeeding challenges. Those experiences continue to shape the way I support families—combining professional expertise with real-world empathy.

When I’m not working with families, I love cycling, hiking, and spending time in the mountains of Maryland and Virginia. I’m also an avid reader, a fan of old movies and historical novels, and I enjoy learning new languages whenever I can.

This is me and my first 3 babies sitting on the steps of the National Capitol building in 2007 while we attended a "nurse-in" to advocate for prevention of discrimination against breastfeeding mothers. This event led to the passing of the "Child's Right to Nurse Human Rights Amendment Act of 2007" that was successfully signed into law later that year.

At Wolf Lactation, I provide personalized care to support your feeding goals with compassion and expertise. Whether you're preparing for your first baby or navigating new challenges postpartum, I offer prenatal education, breastfeeding consultations, and support for bottle feeding and pumping. Services are available through virtual appointments or home visits, and I meet each family where they are. My approach is compassionate, flexible, and grounded in evidence-based care. Every family is unique, and I’m here to help you find what works best for yours.

  • Jennifer is wonderful. She has a calm demeanor that immediately put me at ease which is so important during the postpartum adjustment period, particularly as I was having difficulties with breastfeeding. She listened to and validated my concerns. She was encouraging and empathetic while also challenging me to continue to persevere through breastfeeding challenges which was the balance I needed. I really appreciated Jennifer’s individualized and flexible approach. She is also very professional and clearly well informed and versed in evidence based practice. I truly believe I would not have been able to breastfeed without Jennifer’s help and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with her. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She is also very responsive and thorough. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful my experience was. Thank you Jennifer!
